Concordia University offers a number of scholarships for students who enroll as full-time undergraduate degree candidates. The scholarships are restricted to African students from sub-Saharan Africa studying in Canada and must be used for the fall semester. 

The scholarship award is dependent on your academic performance and the funds available at Concordia University. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated strong leadership and academic achievement in high school. The scholarship is awarded without regard to financial need.

The university was founded in 1974 by the Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches, with a total of 6100 students enrolled in a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs. Types of Scholarships Offered at the University of Concordia:   

There are several types of scholarship opportunities for both undergraduates and graduate students who have shown interest to study at the University of Concordia. the scholarship can either cover your full tuition or part of it. so many other benefits also apply, this includes free accommodation, transportation fare and so on:

Concordia University Scholarships for Undergraduate Program:

  1. Concordia International Diversity Scholarship: Concordia University offers a $2,000 scholarship to international students who enroll full-time in any of the undergraduate programs offered by the university. The scholarship is merit-based and is awarded to international students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement in high school, as well as a strong commitment to community service and leadership. Requirements for the scholarship include maintaining a full-time course load, achieving an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, completing a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and demonstrating active involvement in extracurricular activities.
  2.     Concordia International Merit Scholarship: Concordia University offers a full-tuition scholarship to international students who enroll full-time in any of the undergraduate programs offered by the university. The scholarship is merit-based and is awarded to international students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement in high school, as well as a strong commitment to community service and leadership. Requirements for the scholarship include maintaining a full-time course load, achieving an overall GPA of 3.5 or above, completing a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and ensuring you keep up with other academic standards.
  3.     Concordia International Excellence Scholarship: Concordia International Excellence Scholarship offers a full-tuition scholarship to international students who enroll full-time in any of the undergraduate programs offered by the university. The scholarship is merit-based and is awarded to international students who have demonstrated significant academic achievement in high school, as well as a strong commitment to community service and leadership. Requirements for the scholarship include maintaining a full-time course load, achieving an overall GPA of 3.7 or above, completing a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and demonstrating active involvement in extracurricular activities.
  4. Concordia University Entrance Scholarship: This scholarship is open to high school students who are looking to present at least a score average above 75%. The scholarship also varies depending on the student’s award average.
  5. Concordia Access to Education Scholarship: This scholarship is a full-tuition award for students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA who are enrolled full-time in any of the undergraduate programs offered by the university. This scholarship is open to international applicants, but preference will be given to domestic applicants. Requirements for the scholarship include maintaining a full-time course load, achieving an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, completing a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and demonstrating good academic performance as well.
  6. Concordia Presidential Scholarship:  This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic merit, community leadership, ability to take on tasks, and dedication to bettering the global community.    The Concordia Presidential Scholarship is a full-ride tuition award for students who are enrolled in any of the undergraduate programs offered by the university. 

 

Graduate Scholarships at the University of Concordia: 

Students who are pursuing graduate studies at the University of Concordia. The scholarships listed below are either fully-funded or partially funded for all students.

  1. Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence: Applicants who come out as winners of this award will be exempted from paying any tuition fees. The student will receive a cash award worth $39,000.
  2. Concordia International Scholarship: This scholarship is also awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school, as well as a history of involvement in extracurricular activities. The scholarship is worth $29,000 to the recipient and is awarded to students who are enrolled in any of the graduate programs offered by the university.

The University of Concordia maintains a number of agreements with different institutions. Some of these include:

  1. Concordia University is a member institution partner in the Matriculation and Orientation Consortium (MAC), which allows students at any of the participating universities to enjoy tuition discounts when studying at another university for one semester.
  2. Concordia University has an agreement with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) which allows students to take up short-term study abroad programs and be able to transfer credits back home.
  3. Concordia University is also a member of the Quebec Inter-University Council (QUIC).
  4. Concordia Doctoral Fellowship Award:  This award is open to applicants who are pursuing Ph.D. studies and have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. The scholarship is worth $15,000 and the recipients will receive a tuition waiver for three years with no income requirements.
  5. Concordia International Tuition Award: The award is open to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in high school and are enrolled in any of the doctoral programs offered by the university. The award is worth $19,000 and is granted exclusively to international students.
